21st Century Man

Many have come up with their assumptions of what a 21st century man should look like; but I think otherwise. Though not exhaustive, these sure will help. Let’s get rolling…

A 21st century man believes in one God, the Supreme Being, knowing fully well his activities and existence is guided and guard by his God. He is connected to Him for all his pursuits and activities.

A 21st century man doesn't go 'solo', he networks and synergies with other right-sound minds to achieve ground breaking results.

A 21st century man is educated, I don't mean schooled. I mean a total man with full awareness of the way things are in his surrounding.

A 21st century man has a smart hand-held device. There in, is the knowledge in different formats, styles and media. He has it as music, text, audio messages, on the internet etc.

A 21st century man is fully kitted and capable of quenching the fiery darts of the enemies. He is resilient and always ready to get up.

A 21st century man is MAD. You heard me well. He's filled with path-breaking, trail-blazing ideas that have never been worked before. So, he has to be mad to get them seen because, he will meet with oppositions who will fight the ideas. If he expects mad results, he should be ready to do mad things.

A 21st century man is not ignorant of Information Technology. He loves it. Why? Won't you rather love your major tool? Haven't you seen warriors polished their swords? Or snipers kissed their guns? Ignore the internet at your own peril he says.

A 21st century man is a one-woman-kind-of man (Hard for many but truly a virtue). Although, everything around him goes nude (even the chicken suya on Aboki's fire), he always ensures that his heart is clothed.

A 21st century man is a man of his words. He speaks them, means them, sticks to them and follows them through.

A 21st century man is not afraid of failure because he know failure only teaches him a better way to carry out a task. Failure makes him stronger.

A 21st century man is humble to criticisms. Feedback is his breakfast and corrections his dinner.

A 21st century man thinks positively. His thoughts are fuels for his actions. He speaks positive things to himself and whatever or whoever he comes across.

A 21st century man makes excellence an undertone of all his actions, knowing fully well that he has to re-evaluate this excellence to remain at the top at all times.

There is no better thing to be other than a 21st century man. He is an all round sure wager on success. Kindly drop your ideas of a 21st century man.  Thanks.

Valentinemania

That time of the year is near again. That time when the love jingles and advertorials go high. That time when gift shops stock more teddies, roses and "all love nots." That time when all the decors in malls are only in red and white colours. That time when boutiques stock more of red and white apparels. That time when there are more events, shows and parties commemorating the love season. And ultimately that time when most ladies want to make up with their men, please them more and most of them loosing their innocence; and the men conversely showing tendencies of wanting to stay out of their relationships. That time is fourteen o'two twenty twelve. Valentine's day!

A brief background of the Valentine's day traces it back to years ago (before the 14th century) when it was likened to a day of remembrance to martyrs who were named Valentine. From the 14th century till this present day Valentine's day has been likened to romance and love; now popularly called Lovers Day.

Lovers Day, but why will a day be dedicated for the celebration of love? Love being the greatest commandment should be an every second everyday affair. An extension of love to those that lack, in need and down trodden, a support for the weak, a voice for the speechless, a hand for the helpless, feet for the cripple, eyes for the blind and the quest to put smiles on faces that need them.

As the craze for Valentine goes high, let an equal craze and frenzy for the true show of love (agape) be shown. After all love they say is in the air, let everyone that needs it have a breathe of it. Show some LOVE people.

Happy Valentine's Day in advance.

Nigeria and The 2012 Phenomenon

The 2012 Phenomenon comprises of a range of momentous and violent events believed to be the final events of history and ultimate destiny of mankind. It is connected with events that will bring about the "END OF THE WORLD" or the new "WORLD TO COME." Superimposing this on Nigeria, the 2012 Phenomenon marks the end of the entity called Nigeria (through breakups) or the birth of a new Nigeria (economically stable and productive) which will strive to truly defend its status as the largest black country in the world overwhelmingly blessed with human, material and natural resources.

The reality of the 2012 Phenomenon is dawning on Nigeria and has just began. Interestingly, the new year present to Nigerians was the removal of the almighty fuel subsidy. This caused an increase of about 150% in the pump price of petrol; prices almost tripled as different fuel stations sold at between N141 to N200 per litre. The injunction on fuel subsidy removal might be veto driven as the National Assembly has no input in it.

A New World to Come
The Nigerian president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his economic ex-cos - CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, etc see the subsidy removal as a breath of fresh air (The Jonathan campaign slogan) for the economy of the nation. Their claim was that some cabals were being enriched by the availability of the subsidy, thus their plan to save in the nation's treasury in 2012 and going forward over N1 trillion annually. The economic committee's plan as well as that of other investment and economic analysts is to bring salvation to the nation through infrastructure and development. No wonder the statement of the CBN governor in his BBC interview, "Subsidies should be subsidies for production and not for consumption."

End of the World
The thoughts of a larger population of the Nigerian people see the fuel subsidy removal as a way to increase the sufferings of the people as its multiplier effect is already evident in cost of transportation and general prices of commodities and services. The fear of an inflation ensuing is also evident. Some also doubt the judicious use of the supposed savings owing to the bad leadership history of Nigeria.

A country still 100% generator-power driven with virtually all activities directly or indirectly related to petrol thus about a 100% increase in general cost of living. This has caused an uproar in the entire populace resulting to both national and international protests (#OccupyNigeria). The people question if this is the breathe of fresh air promised? Their trust on President Jonathan has been betrayed thus a legendary brutality to the common sense of the Nigerian voters who enthroned him.

Trending on Facebook and Twitter since the since the beginning of 2012 has been the fuel subsidy issue. A likely series of cataclysmic events have begun, inflicted physically and economically on Nigerians by their president who has been momentarily renamed Badluck Egbere (A night spirit of hatred) Jo-Lantern (Depicts the continued power failure). Some even say he now wants many Nigerians to wander without shoes as he the president schooled without shoes. What an ingenious citizenry.

In all the uprising, brilliant propositions and suggestions, funny comments and animations, expert advise and more, the 2012 Phenomenon (End of the World or A New World to Come) looks very eminent and Nigerians should get ready for the change.
