UK blacklists Medical Graduates from 9 Nigerian Universities

GMC says the schools no longer meet accepted standards of practice in the UK.
Medical graduates from nine universities in Nigeria will no longer be able to obtain licenses to practice in the United Kingdom, following a decision by the UK's General Medical Council (GMC) to ban the higher institutions.

The GMC, a body of independent regulators which registers medical doctors to practise in the UK, took the decision to bar graduates from the nine universities from writing PLAB.

PLAB is the UK exam that enables non-UK Medical graduates to undertake post-graduate medical training in the country.

Governor T.A Orji's 2011 Christmas Message, The Remix (Video Inside)

I so so love this creator of this video. The people of Abia need to be rescued from whatever has held them bound. For the past 6 years of Governor T. A. Orji's administration, things get worse. Surely I will not say he is incapable but I sure believe there might be forces (physical and spiritual) hindering the progress of the state.

I really wish he and his cabinet sees this video. This will initiate the change the state desires. God bless Abia State. God bless Nigeria.

BlackBerry Gist

Blackberry phones, one of the wonders of the 21st Century. Y'all heard me right. Interestingly, the BB as it is usually called has made the world of social media much more closer and interconnected as well as a good means for savings for call (so users argue but sure it is true), article of ostentation, more more more. Nonetheless the plenty plenty yarns (as my Nigerian people would say) that flies with the BB is wow!

Your heart might pound at an excessive rate if you dwell solely on the news that fly around the blackberry. A broadcast of two days ago about a robbery will still be spread over and over without the senders and subsequent readers (that will become new batch of senders) trying to understand the origin and the need for such messages. Interestingly, the extent of propaganda that fly around. Some weeks back it was a picture of an advanced stage of cervical cancer, trust Naija story tellers! It soon became an aftermath punishment for an aristo chic for sleeping with an Alhaji for huge sums of naira, (mind you different broadcasts had different naira figures it quoted).

"There's a robbery on third mainland bridge, please take an alternative route." This was received genuinely at about 6am Monday morning and at around 6pm some fellows are still broadcasting it. Haaahahahahahaah, all na gist na! Job vacancies that have long expired with find their way been circulated through the BBM.

Gossip galore... If we take our time to see what we all discuss on our BBMs, eyes will shed blood. What's the fun if not all these gists. Nonetheless the stories unfold and if you might decide to snoop into someone's messages, mehn, you are sure to see a shocker.

I need not over flog this matter on the BBM, after all all seriousness and no play play dulls our life and kills us with boredom. The next time you receive a broadcast kindly double check before sending out and also mind the people you are sending it to. Cheers.

I miss the days when life was SiMplE

Hmmmmmm! Reminiscing on yesterday's memories when life was very simple. What thoughts do I have to think other than how to eat; not what to eat because someone else also did that! Did I see you ponder? Simple life of childhood, I miss them all! All of them.

Those crazy plays, shun ajebutter thingy. Water-guns wars, War-start, Ten-Ten, under the rain soccer, suwae, swell, hide & seek, kite flying, building houses on sand, dance awilo, cooking with tin tomatoes cans, in-out surrender, I call on; I can go on and on and on! (Sipping some water and continuing) Stand still, shock, number number one, flying like aeroplane, police catch the thief, who is in the garden, chasing grasshoppers and lizards, playing pana, rubber and canta, igba tire & borres, play okoso. Gush! These were real plays and jovial moments.

Think before you react!

Source: Shantina Wilson's book cover.

"Life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it." - John Maxwell.

What do you do when you're having a bad time or when something goes wrong?

Do you become irritated, frustrated, angry or depressed? Do you start feeling sorry for yourself or complain about why bad things always seem to happen to you?

How you choose to react to any unpleasant event will make a difference to how you feel for the rest of your day and even for the rest of your life. Let me explain ...

Kim Kardashian reveals reason for spliting with Kris Humphries; also hides from camera (Video Inside)

Interestingly Kim Kardashian has spoken up on her reasons for splitting with Kris Humphries saying: she got "caught up with the hoopla" surrounding her relationship with Kris Humphries "and rushed into something too soon."

This was an emotional message contained on her website. She was no firm saying that her divorce was not at all any form of media hype and frenzy as people believe. Read full story here  and
here.

In the same way while Kim was traveling to Sydney, she got mobbed by median people at the Sydney airport. The life of a celebrity. See video here.

Kim Kardashian divorce Kris Humphries (Reality TV Wedding)

What's trending now? On Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, MySpace... Kim Kardashian divorces Kris Humphries. Isn't this the biggest joke of the year.

I just got myself thinking on the purpose of this marriage union between these fellows, probably in Kim's wish list she wrote down there that she needed to get married at 30, and that she did. Or she needed to get married to a hunk and have an explosive media hype. Or whatever that comes to mind is allowed at this point.

Interesting this is the complete season of Kim Kardashian's wedding lasting about 10 weeks (72 days exactly). Humans thinking that marriage is for fun. Actually why would I blame Kris when every dude in the would must have fantasized about making out with Kim. His wishes came through. LMAO! He was just another reality TV husband, husband on camera!

Seriously, I really feel there is something wrong with celebrity marriages, stuff they should watch their attitudes. Hmmmmm! God help me ooo because I'm a celebrity my self. It have been! Hahahaaaas!!!

Watch out for the next season of Kim Kardashian wedding/marriage.

Baba Suwe breaks record

Most of you must have noticed that I have not commented or written anything at all concerning our ace comedian, Baba Suwe that has been detained by NDLEA for over 4 weeks now.

Interestingly, he made an appearance in court yesterday where an injunction was given to release him if by Friday he fails to produce the long awaited "Expensive Shit."

According to his lawyer and some medical experts, Baba Suwe has broken a world record being the 1st human detained for 28days by drug law enforcements on account of having ingested hard drugs and yet have not shitted it. ROTFLMFAO! All na record jooooor. Free the man, whether he is using jazz (according to NDLEA boss) or not; well calculated homework, wrong imagery of the scanning machines or wrong interpretations by doctors. As Terry G will say, FREE ME!

I wish life came with an eraser

"If wishes were horses beggars will ride."

I wish life came with an eraser. Wow! How wonderful that would be. Bad Good as it may, life is a one way direction with several interjections at various points. Does that sound familiar? No reverse, no brakes, no U-turns all one way speed lanes. I felt how hard that hit you but for sure it is a reality.

I have made mistakes; gross ones for that matter. Some I wished that day never came in my life but sincerely what is the point wallowing in self pity and dwelling our entirety in the best when the future holds more. No point I say.

Why FROWN when SMILES are a lot easier?

"A smile is a frown turned upside down"

Isn't that easy? Most time I really imagine some faces I see that I pray to be lucky enough to see smiles on them. These faces are not frowning out of pain or sorry but because the owners of such faces feel that's the best way to see them as serious or mean. Oh please spare me that I always say to them. I once went for an interview and I could remember smiling and laughing all through than I answered questions. The interviewer finally said, "young man I think you are a jolly happy fellow, I was sad the whole of today but your smiles just got me lifted." We all burst into laughter. She and myself are the best of friends till today.

Why go through much pain keeping that mean face that scares everyone. This post is not teaching you how to smile. If you already know how to do that count yourself pretty lucky but if you don't uuuhmmmmmm... you've got so much to learn. Just pull your cheeks backwards and let you teeth show a little. That's a smile provided you don't look scary at it. WARNING: Always use a mirror while doing this! LMFAO!

To the serious issues now. A popular quote says, "it takes more muscles to frown than it takes to smile." The origin of this quote is actually not known, the quantity of muscle involved in the action is also not known as various writers have theirs. Let us share some of the quotes below:

One deep-fried-Zen adage advises: "It takes 13 muscles to smile and 33 to frown. Why overwork?"
(The Washington Post, 5 December 1982)

"You know the old adage that it only takes 10 muscles to smile but it takes 100 to frown," she said.
(The New York Times, 19 April 1987)

According to doctors we use only four muscles to smile, but when we frown we use 64 muscles — 16 times more.
  (The Hindu, 11 March 2000)

It takes four muscles to smile, 20 to frown and roughly 317 to appear amused when a Celine Dion imitator, who happens to be a man, sings a song about, er, flatulence.
(The Denver Post, 29 September 1998)

It's easier to smile than to frown. A smile uses 17 muscles, a frown, 43.
(Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 24 February 1997)

Right there, you commit to selling to all employees — at cost, not a nickel of markup — company T-shirts that say, "It only takes one muscle to smile and 37 muscles to frown."
  (St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 24 April 1995)

Don't they know it is said you use 35 muscles to frown and four to smile? Why tire yourself?
([Queensland] Sunday Mail, 18 August 1991)

Sonny Smith, Auburn's basketball coach, on his dour counterpart at the University of Alabama: ''It takes 15 muscles to smile and 65 muscles to frown. This leads me to believe Wimp Sanderson is suffering from muscle fatigue.''
(The New York Times, 16 December 1986)

It takes 72 muscles to frown — only 14 to smile!"
  (Encyclopedia of 7700 Illustrations., 1979)

 Source: Snopes.com

With all these quotes I really see no reason why anyone should doubt it. My grandmother always said, "laughter makes you leave long, why worry?" Always learn how to wear that smile on. Smiles makes us feel happier and lighter, though it is not a total cure for all situations (those very sad and agonizing moments), it sure offers that release and better state of mind to deal with the pain. Always put your smile on, even if you do not need it someone seeing your face does.

Whose got the BBM infection?

Sometime between the last quarter of 2009 and first quarter of 2010 an infective bug was let loose more than before and its effects grew so exponentially. One that when it bites leaves one frenziedly frisking fingers through the keypads of the bug originator (phone). A chronic infection! This infection is the almighty BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). I guess that name is quite familair? The purchasing trend for a Blackberry phone increased not for the smartphone, business-official and email purpose but for the chatting ish - BBM.

What is the BBM? It is quite synonymous to the Yahoo messenger, GTalk, MSN, 2go etc. The plus side of the BBm is that it offers that aesthetics and allows you to do a little customizing of the characters you want to choose. It also gives room for your online friends to know the songs you are listening at a particular moment (This is actually a way to start up or spice up a conversation). The BBM is the only chat app that allows segmentation of friends into groups as well as choosing to belong to groups.

With all these positives the addiction and social nuisance transmitted by the BBM bug is overwhelming. From checking your phone first thing when you rise from bed to being the last thing you always want to  set your eyes on before going to bed. The major reason why you will always want to charge your Blackberry phone every hour. Driving and pinging is a different tale! Walking on the road or "watching TV" with eyes glued on the screens of the BBM device. Most annoying social nuisance is seeing people fiddling with their phones in meetings, executive meetings! A colleague of mine got a query for that from her boss for pinging during a meeting with a state governor in the governor's office. An honor she rubbished.

Annoyingly, the BBM can never be turned off as you can't sign out of it. The best you can do is turn your alert to the silent mode. What a bondage to be pitied. RIM why? Worst of all once you change your BB to a higher model you've got to start re-entering and re-adding all your contacts as these cannot be backed up on the PC manager or synonymous to the GTalk, Yahoo messenger, MSN etc. A burden of a job to do.

Interestingly, the sale of the Blackberry can never decline. Reasons being that the device has a very versatile in the sense that it makes you feel belonged among a particular clique - The BB people; all longed for by mature adults and the teeming youths, children inclusive. A perception that attaches the blackberry to an article of ostentation yet bringing an anti social behavior. Really?! A friend once said, "I never liked the Blackberry but my fiance wanted it so bad, I got it for her and right now I beg her for attention because she is so into her BBM than myself." What a confession. My cousin says without her Blackberry (BBM) she feels lonely and depressed.

I'll really like to know what you guys think. If you are a Blackberry phone user please tell us how you deal with and manage this infection or are you immune to it. Also, if you are not a BB user how do you feel not belonging to this group and how's the urge like wanting to join.

People get the comments coming...

Freshest Video: Tiwa Savage - Love Me, Love Me, Love Me

Enjoy!!!!

How Important is Sex in relationships?

All of us crave for perfect relationships. All the emotional sharing, peace, provision, trustworthiness blah blah blah. This article is not to x-ray what a perfect relationship should look like because I believe that there is no perfect one rather people involved in the relationship seek mutual ways to attain "perfection"

SCENARIO A: Ben and Rose started dating a month ago. Rose is a strong believer of NO SEX in a relationship unless she is married. Ben knew this forehand before getting into the relationship. Ben anticipates sex and feels that one day Rose will yield to it or better still get it elsewhere.

Is Beyonce TRUELY Pregnant? (Video & Pictures of "fake" pregnancy inside)

The news of Beyonce's pregnancy took the world by surprise. Doubts still abound on how real this pregnancy is as the pregnancy has been growing more than the usual pregnancy growth rate.
In the channel 7 "Sunday Night" interview with B, hell broke loose as the supposed pregnancy folded unusually. Hehehe!!!!

Just see the pictures after the cut... Also, watch the video too, concentrate between 0.52 second to 1.02 minutes

Harvard University is no longer Number 1 university in the world

In case you have not heard, HARVARD UNIVERSITY IS NO LONGER NUMBER ONE WORLD UNIVERSITY (though I'll still like to be a Harvard Alumnus). After being on the number one spot for 8 consecutive years it lost that feat as stated by the Times Higher Education (THE) University Ranking. Right at the number one spot now is California Institute of Technology (CalTech), Harvard at number 2, Stanford University at 3rd place with Oxford and Princeton Universities taking 4th and 5th position respectively.

See the full list of the world 400 universities here.

Step brother cuts off 3 weeks old baby's right arm

Wonders they say will never end. A 30 year old man, Mr.Nathaniel John has cut off the right arm of his 3 weeks old brother, Etimbuk John in Uruk Otong village in Uruk Anam LGA of Akwa Ibom state.

Sadly, the perpetrator could not say he reasons for doing so as he was lynched by the village youths after committing the ordeal. Speculations have it that it was because of a quarrel between the man and the baby's mother.

Currently, the baby is receiving treatment at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) and will soon be discharged but the family really needs assistance to settle their bills.

God have mercy!!!
Read more about the story here.

Life is Short, Stop Living on Assumptions

Life in itself is very short so why make it all complicated or live it in a shell which happens to be your assumptions. In as much as it is quite interesting to live in your mind especially "thoughts of positives," in that time of solitude and meditations there is always the need for clarifications, checking and double checking.

I sure believe that one way or the other we are all affected by these assumptions which eventually grow into monsters - gossip and grapevine. I will summarize this with little expressions you might be familiar with but have never thought of.

You miss someone, just call!
There is absolutely no need to keep on "forming" or just dey demo.
Want to meet someone or stuff alike, c'mon just invite!
You will only receive an answer that says YES or NO. Nothing more. It's quite better than assuming that maybe or maybe not the person fit no gree.

Want to be understood, Explain!
How more can i talk about this? You are in an argument and you state your suggestion but it seems not accepted and you choose to keep mute yelling, "okay, just forget," how do you want them to understand when you don't want to explain.

You have questions, Ask!
What's a better way to know if you don't ask?

You don't like it, just say it!
What's the point having it burden your heart and just keep mute? If you want to say it always do so nicely, after all, there is always a way to tell someone to go to hell and he asks for directions.

You like it, state it!
Definitely, you'll receive that "thank you" in return for sure.

You want something, Ask for it!
This happens to be our major problem. We just believe that the person concerned should know you want it. The person be God or juju man. Abeg jor!

Conclusively, no one knows whats going on in your mind, just express it and be free. As Nike would say, "Just Do It."
