See Through Me

Yeah people, lets do a little mind building in the christian way. As par Godly people. Please relax and open your mind as you reminisce with this piece.

SEE THROUGH ME
Reminiscing, Pondering and Wondering – Who am I? What am I? What do people say about me? What is actually expected of me…. The questions go on and on.  But in the real sense our hearts are asking. They can tell us no lies because the worst of all deceits is self deceit!

It is a common occurrence not to let go any Sunday service or a mid week service pass us by and even bedtime and waking up prayers have become rituals in our lives. What are we actually portraying by doing all these? Is it the true purpose for them? Alas, we ask ourselves the question – What do people “see through me

See through me.” Our early understanding of the word “Christian” describes it as “Christ-like.” Basic explanation of a “mirror” says “producing exactly the same type”, in a more technical jargon – “reflection.” In context then if we need define the word Christian, without mincing words it goes thus: “Reflection of Christ.Wow! Questions pops up some more – Is this reflection of our lives in tune with Christ’s? Christ watching us all, we being the mirror; can we say he sees through us that which we are meant to reflect?

Ye are the salt of the earth … (Matt. 5:13). Do we still have this tasteful nature? Are our flavours actually retained? Can we still preserve us? (Food science tells us salt is used as a preservative). Or are we exhibiting an excessiveness of the salt function? Sour and bad it will be. If we truthfully and in all sincerity ask ourselves these questions they will definitely increase geometrically. A saying goes thus – “The you in you is the you that makes you the you you are.” Let this “you in you” be Christ so what people see through you will be Christ!

Let us all say a simple prayer. “God help be like you in all I do so when people see through me they see you only.” Our help comes from the Lord (Psalm 121:2)
